Beverley Mitchell & Michael Cameron
Actress/singer Beverley Mitchell and her fiancée/accountant Michael Cameron were in 7th heaven on October 1, 2008 when they exchanged vows and became husband and wife. The happy couple wed at the Santa Maria della Gradillo church in Ravello, Italy, a true destination wedding.
Mitchell walked down the aisle on a white, petal-covered runner dressed in an elegant ivory Melissa Sweet gown to her handsome husband-to-be. Cameron was clad in a classic black Kenneth Cole tuxedo. Her dress featured a sleek, strapless, body-hugging bodice with a trumpet skirt and short train. Her diaphanous veil fell beautifully over her dress, creating a soft and sophisticated silhouette that gave her an almost regal look.
Mitchell and Cameron, both 27 years old, had been engaged since New Years Eve of 2005 when he proposed to her with a 3.5-carat yellow diamond Louis Glick engagement ring. A guest at the wedding said, “They are a really good fit for each other. Her friends and family are thrilled.”
Keeping with the Italian theme of the wedding ceremony (and the fact that Mitchell is a country singer, perhaps), a lute player provided music to set the mood as the couple walked down the aisle, hand-in-hand, having just been pronounced husband and wife. As they walked, Mitchell and Cameron were showered with white petals, thrown from beaming guests, and went on to enjoy the rest of the night with their family and friends.
After the ceremony, Mitchell took part in what is now being called by both brides and photographers as “trashing the dress.” The basic idea of “trashing the dress” or TTD, is to do something seemingly crazy that will create great photo opportunities, even though the dress will probably be ruined. Some brides in the past have chosen to work on cars, paint, or pose in water, which is exactly what Mitchell and Cameron decided to do. The couple posed in a nearby lake completely dressed in their wedding attire. But it was all worth it because according to Gossipgirls.com because the pictures came out wonderful.
This wasn’t Mitchell’s first time down the aisle, but it was the first time her marriage was legal. In an episode of her television series, 7th Heaven, her character Lucy Camden stood at the altar accompanied by her sister Mary Camden (played by Biel). In this “wedding” Mitchell donned a traditional wedding gown from Diamond Bride and tied the knot with her on-screen fiancée, Kevin Kinkirt (played by George Stults). Although this time the wedding was real, there were quite a few similarities between the two. Jessica Biel and on-screen sister, Mackenzie Rosman (known to 7th Heaven fans as Ruthie Camden) were two of Mitchell’s bridesmaids.
In addition to the number of celebrities present at the Mitchell/Cameron affair, one of the most notable was singer/actor Justin Timberlake, Biel’s current boyfriend. People magazine says that Biel had booked a suite for herself and Timberlake at the Palazoo Santa Croce in Positano before the wedding. Who knows? Maybe Biel and Timberlake will be the next ones to take the plunge!
