Olympic swimmer Becky Adlington is seeking brides-to-be to join her team in the British Gas SwimBritain challenge.
Miss Adlington, 24, who retired from competitive swimming in January, recently announced on Twitter that she is to marry fellow swimmer and long-term boyfriend Harry Needs after he popped the question earlier this year.
She announced the news to her fans, tweeting: “Had the best weekend ever!!! Thank you @Harryneeds for making me the happiest person ever right now #engaged #isaidyes."
The Olympian now wants three ladies, one bride-to-be and two friends or family members, to join her this September for SwimBritain, which is the first relay event of its kind.
In this chance of a lifetime opportunity not only will the chosen girls get the honour of swimming alongside Becky on the day, they’ll also train with the four-time Olympic medalist in the magnificent setting of the Olympians training and racing pool at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
A 10-week health and fitness plan will be devised by Becky to help her fellow bride-to-be and friends get in shape for the big day.
Being part of a team is so important for staying motivated,” says Becky. “Your teammates really help to keep you going. I had fun with my Team GB teammates and I can’t wait to share that kind of experience with other brides-to-be.”
