It would be a dream come true to have everyone staying in the same area so that we can enjoy as much time together! Eventful days (and nights) leading up to and after the wedding day will all begin and end in the resort of “Playas de Fornells” (also known as "Platges de Fornells")

This is where the bride-to-be has spent long family summers and many festive weeks since the age of six, and latter summers with the groom-to-be of course. So it is a special place....a home away from home. It is where the wedding group will be based before the wedding day.

When searching always look for “Playas de Fornells” (or “Platges de Fornells” if shown as an option) and make sure you are always looking in “Menorca”. There are other locations nearby like Mercadal, Fornells (the town) and Ses Salinas.

Remember that if you can share with a number of friends or family members what might look like an expensive option, when divided amongst those paying might prove to be a good deal. This is because most accommodation is based upon the room not the number of people staying in the room, although of course you need to ensure that you have sufficient space for a comfortable stay.

Note that later in the week following the wedding, accommodation prices begin to climb as we enter the peak holiday period.

Fornells is the town close to Playas de Fornells. It is still a working fishing village, albeit a picturesque one. There are some hotels and although a very charming location with lots of restaurants (the King of Spain often sails there to eat), there is no beach to speak of:

Across the road from the entrance to Playas de Fornells, on the way to Fornells village is Ses Salinas. Go to visitmenorca.com, select “Fornells” from the “Tourist Area” drop-down list, search your dates and you should find details for “Apartamentos Ses Salinas”
